Krispy Kreme is marking three decades of Pokémon with a limited-edition doughnut lineup now available at participating locations, including the Colorado Springs shop. The company said it is celebrating 30 years of Pokémon with six limited-edition Pokémon-themed doughnuts, available at participating shops nationwide.
The collection includes a Bulbasaur Doughnut — an Original Glazed doughnut dipped in vanilla-flavored icing and topped with frosting and a Bulbasaur piece; a Charmander Doughnut — an unglazed shell doughnut with chocolate- and toasted marshmallow-flavored filling, dipped in orange-colored caramel icing and red and gold sugar sprinkles; a Squirtle Doughnut — an Original Glazed doughnut piped with cotton candy-flavored buttercreme, dipped in sanding sugar and nonpareils; a Pikachu Doughnut — an unglazed shell filled with lemon-flavored creme filling, dipped in vanilla icing and decorated with drizzle and nonpareils; a Jigglypuff Doughnut — an Original Glazed doughnut piped with strawberry-flavored buttercreme and sprinkled with strawberry-flavored cookie pieces; and a Poké Ball Doughnut — an Original Glazed doughnut dipped in vanilla-flavored icing and red sprinkles, then piped with chocolate icing.
A dozen doughnuts are available in special themed boxes. The packaging is part of a broader promotional push tied to the franchise milestone. The collection also includes collectibles alongside the doughnuts.
The company is also offering an incentive for fans willing to dress the part. Customers who visit Krispy Kreme in a Pokémon-themed outfit Saturday can get a free glazed doughnut.
Krispy Kreme's chief brand and product officer said in a statement: "From Pokémon-inspired creations and playful flavors to themed cups, special packaging and fan surprises, this collection is made to be caught and shared as we celebrate 30 incredible years of Pokémon."
It is not yet confirmed how long the Pokémon Doughnut Collection will remain available at participating locations, and Krispy Kreme had not announced an end date for the promotion at the time of reporting.
