The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing 11-year-old boy who left his home in the Security-Widefield area on Tuesday and has not been located, according to the agency.

Deputies began searching after the boy left home on foot Tuesday, according to a social media post by the agency. He was last seen departing from Metropolitan Street at around 12:30 p.m.

The boy, identified by the sheriff's office only as Michael — his last name was not provided — left from Metropolitan Street in the Security-Widefield area. He is 5 feet tall, weighs 100 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. Michael was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and orange and white sandals.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is asking for the community's help in locating the boy. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 719-390-5555.

The sheriff's office had not announced as of the time of this report whether Michael had been found, and the search remains ongoing.
