A guard who once helped bring a championship to Denver is now angling for a spot on another title contender. Brown landed a training-camp agreement with the defending champion Knicks, joining a batch of players New York brought in on similar deals Wednesday.
Brown's roster history since that Denver title run reads like a tour of the Eastern Conference. After capturing the 2023 championship with Denver, he moved on to Indiana for the next season. The Pacers then dealt him to Toronto, and the Raptors subsequently sent him to New Orleans before he returned to Denver on a new deal last summer. His arrival in New York marks yet another roster stop in what has been a busy few years of movement across the league.
Despite the frequent changes of address, Brown was a reliable presence on the floor throughout last season. He put up 7.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game and did not miss a single contest across all 82 regular-season games. That kind of durability and consistent production could strengthen his case as he competes for a permanent spot on New York's roster.
Brown was one of five players — along with Ochai Agbaji, John Konchar, James Wiseman, and Drew Eubanks — to sign training-camp deals with New York, a team currently carrying two open roster slots. The group will need to make their cases during camp before the Knicks settle on their final regular-season lineup.
Whether Brown claims one of those available spots and extends his career on a championship-caliber roster will become clear once training camp concludes.
