D11 Bond Measure 4A: Drop Boxes Are Open, November 3 Deadline Approaching
El Paso County ballot drop boxes are open this week, and if you've received your D11 mail ballot, now's the time to return it. The November 3 election includes District 11's Measure 4A — a $775 million school bond that would fund safety and infrastructure improvements across D11 schools.
Mail ballots were sent out the week of October 13. You've got three weeks — but most families find it's easiest to handle this early, before the ballot gets buried under permission slips and permission forms.

What the Bond Would Fund
If passed, Measure 4A would direct funds toward several categories of need across District 11 schools:
- Safety and security upgrades at school buildings throughout the district
- HVAC system replacements and asbestos removal in older facilities
- Career and Technical Education (CTE) program expansion
- Classroom modernization and technology infrastructure
- Library improvements
The D11 board voted 6-1 in August to place the measure on the ballot, after a community engagement process that included input from parents, teachers, and staff.
How to Return Your Ballot
You have a few options for returning your ballot before the November 3 deadline:
- Use a ballot drop box — El Paso County drop boxes are now open and located throughout the district. No stamp required.
- Mail your ballot — allow enough time for delivery before the November 3 deadline.
- Vote in person at a Vote Center on Election Day, November 3.
For drop box locations and a full list of Vote Centers, visit the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's website.
What's Next
The November 3, 2026 election deadline is firm — ballots must be received (not just postmarked) by 7 PM on Election Day if returned by mail. Drop boxes are the most reliable option outside of Election Day in-person voting. Visit d11.org/4A for the full bond measure breakdown, project lists, and financial analysis.
