Colorado Springs soccer fans will have a local venue to take in the sport's biggest stage this weekend, as the Colorado Springs Switchbacks invited the community to watch the World Cup final at Weidner Field.
The Switchbacks are hosting a World Cup watch party on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, with attendees invited to watch Spain and Argentina compete for the world title in the Phil Long Club or on the pitch.
The match will be shown on the jumbotron at Weidner Field, home of the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. Concessions will be available for purchase, and the Switchbacks organization will provide activities including cornhole and other lawn games.
No ticket or registration information was provided in the team's announcement beyond the event being free of charge. It was not immediately clear whether capacity limits or parking arrangements would be in place for the gathering.
