The Police Foundation of Colorado Springs and Gold Hill Mesa are set to host a free public event marking the release of the 2027 CSPD K9 Calendar, bringing together local law enforcement, art, and community fundraising under one roof.

The Police Foundation of Colorado Springs and Gold Hill Mesa will unveil the 2027 CSPD K9 Calendar during a free community event on Thursday, Sept. 10. The event will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Gold Hill Mesa, 142 S. Raven Mine Drive.

Every photograph for the calendar was captured across Gold Hill Mesa, giving the CSPD K9s a distinctive Colorado Springs setting. The unveiling was intentionally scheduled alongside Gold Hill Mesa's Art on the Mesa exhibition, creating one evening centered on art, service, and community.

Guests can meet CSPD handler Simmons with K9 Wicket, and CSPD handler Bastian with K9 Dutch. Attendees can also explore the gallery exhibition and enjoy light appetizers and drinks.

The 2027 CSPD K9 Calendar will be available for $15, with all proceeds from calendar sales benefiting the K9 Units of the Colorado Springs Police Department and the mission of the Police Foundation of Colorado Springs. Funds raised directly support the purchase of new K9s, officer training and equipment, medical trauma kits, scholarships for children of CSPD employees, and other critical needs.

Nicole Magic, President and Executive Director of the Police Foundation of Colorado Springs, described Gold Hill Mesa as "far more than the setting for this calendar" and "a true partner in making it possible," adding that community collaboration helped create something that "celebrates CSPD K9s and the power of community partnership."

How many calendars are sold at the September 10 event — and how much that raises for K9 unit needs — remains to be seen.
