The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded Tuesday afternoon to a fire involving a recreational vehicle on northbound Interstate 25, bringing the blaze under control within roughly 15 minutes of the initial call.
CSFD was dispatched to the RV home fire at around 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4. The burning RV was located on the northbound side of I-25 between South Nevada Avenue and Cimarron Street.
By around 1 p.m., CSFD reported that the fire was under control, and crews remained on scene working to clear the area.
CSFD asked drivers to be cautious of crews in the area and to slow down or move over for firefighters working on the roadside.
No information on injuries, the origin of the fire, or the owner of the vehicle was available in initial reports. Further updates from CSFD are expected as the scene is cleared and an assessment is completed.
