A weekend market blending spirituality, wellness, and visual arts is coming to Colorado Springs for the first time, giving residents a single destination to browse handmade goods and explore holistic practices.
About 100 artisans and holistic practitioners will be on hand at the Creative Market & Holistic Expo, a one-stop shop for those interested in exploring spirituality, self-growth, and visual arts. Event founder Amy Schmidt started the expo three years ago in Castle Rock before bringing it to Colorado Springs.
"Our tagline is spirituality with an artsy twist," Schmidt said. "We blend artisans and craftsmen with holistic practitioners and healers and metaphysical offerings. They go hand in hand in an intuitive space with the artisans' creative flow, and the holistic healers can help people change negative patterns."
The expo runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Colorado Springs Event Center, 3960 Palmer Park Blvd. Admission is $10, and children 10 and younger enter free. Metaphysical readings and other experiences, such as sound healing, are priced at $20–$30 for 20 minutes.
Alongside the vendors, attendees can get photos of their auras, hand analysis readings, palm readings, energy work, red light therapy, henna tattoos, and more. Artisans will bring jewelry, skin care products, painted handmade drums, tensor rings, herbal remedies, and additional goods.
Some holistic practitioners and artisans will also lead presentations and workshops throughout the weekend, including "The Call of the Healer: Transforming Challenge into Wisdom and Healing" and "Healing from the Inside Out: Techniques to Heal and Clear Your Own Energy."
"We've been told it's a high-vibe, fun atmosphere where you can talk to many different people in the holistic realm," Schmidt said. "They can help align a person on their path. If you're struggling, this would be a place to open up your own healing abilities. A good practitioner helps point you back to yourself and the power you have within you."
