About 2,000 of these toys were sold across the country.

The Hazard

When the knot securing the elastic cord comes untied, it exposes the small wooden and plastic components that make up the toy's colorful rattle elements. For infants who are grasping and mouthing objects — which is exactly what this toy is designed to encourage — those loose pieces create a real choking and ingestion risk.

Choking hazards in teething and grasping toys are taken seriously by the CPSC because infants at this developmental stage are especially vulnerable. They put everything in their mouths, can't remove a lodged object on their own, and can't call for help.
