Little Loves & Co. Recalls Youth Clothing Due to Drawstring Entrapment Hazard

A second children's product recall is on the radar for Colorado Springs families this week. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced that Little Loves & Co. is recalling approximately 590 youth clothing sets due to waist drawstrings that can snag on objects and trap children โ€” a potentially dangerous entrapment hazard.

What's Being Recalled

The recall covers youth clothing sets sold under the Little Loves & Co. brand. The hazard is a waist drawstring that does not meet federal safety standards for children's clothing. The CPSC has found that these drawstrings can catch on playground equipment, bus doors, fencing, or other fixed objects, trapping a child and potentially causing serious injury.

The affected clothing was sold on two online platforms:

  • Littlelovesandco.com
  • Whatnot.com

Sales occurred from May 2025 through July 2026. Prices ranged from $15 to $30 per set. Approximately 590 garments were sold in total.

Why Drawstrings Are a Safety Concern

Federal clothing safety standards have restricted or banned certain types of drawstrings on children's garments for years. Drawstrings around hoods and necks are banned outright from most children's upper outerwear because of strangulation risk. Waist drawstrings are regulated because they can catch on objects during play โ€” particularly on playground equipment โ€” and prevent a child from freeing themselves.

The risk is heightened in busy environments like school playgrounds, parks, and bus pick-up areas, where children move quickly and objects are close together. In Colorado Springs, with active outdoor play a major part of family life year-round, this type of hazard is worth taking seriously.

What to Do

Parents who purchased Little Loves & Co. clothing sets between May 2025 and July 2026 should:

  1. Check children's clothing for items purchased from Littlelovesandco.com or Whatnot.com.
  2. Stop children from wearing the recalled items.
  3. Contact Little Loves & Co. for information about the remedy โ€” refund or replacement options.

If you purchased through Whatnot.com and no longer have the seller's contact information, the CPSC recommends contacting the platform directly for assistance.

A Note on Online Marketplace Safety

Recalls from smaller online-only brands and marketplace sellers often don't reach families as reliably as recalls from major retailers. If you regularly shop for children's clothing on platforms like Whatnot, Poshmark, or similar sites, it's worth bookmarking cpsc.gov/Recalls and checking it periodically โ€” especially if you're purchasing from smaller or unfamiliar brands.
