A Colorado Springs ice cream chain with more than two decades in the market has added a second location on the city's southeast side, bringing affordable soft serve to a new part of town.

Rizuto's opened this summer inside the Chelton Crossing Community Hub at 2050 Jet Wing Dr., expanding on its more than 20-year presence serving ice cream in Colorado Springs. The company's original location remains at 4785 Barnes Rd.

The shop offers soft serve alongside 31 flavors of hard ice cream. Pricing drew early notice from visitors, with soft serve starting at just $1.25 for a kids cone.

Rizuto's South is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

It is not yet known whether the business plans further expansion beyond its two current Colorado Springs locations.
