A well-established local ice cream brand has planted a second flag in Colorado Springs, bringing affordable frozen treats to the city's southeast corridor for the first time.
The new outpost is housed within the Chelton Crossing Community Hub at 2050 Jet Wing Dr. and began welcoming customers this summer. Rizuto's has been part of the Colorado Springs dessert scene for more than 20 years, with a menu built around soft serve alongside 31 flavors of hard ice cream.
Among the features drawing early attention is the shop's pricing structure, with the entry-level kids' cone available for $1.25. The brand's original storefront remains open at 4785 Barnes Rd.
The southeast shop operates from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, while Sunday hours are condensed, running from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Whether Rizuto's has any further expansion plans beyond its two Colorado Springs addresses has not been reported.
