A group of Colorado Springs veterans organized a fundraising event over the weekend aimed at addressing one of the military community's most persistent crises. Former service members with Disgruntled Vets hosted a charity car wash on Saturday, Aug. 22, to benefit 22 Until None, a local nonprofit organization focused on preventing veteran suicide.

Organizers said the gathering was about more than raising money. The event aimed to bring veterans together for a day focused on camaraderie and peer connection. That emphasis on in-person community reflects a broader philosophy behind 22 Until None's model of care. The organization provides direct assistance, resources, and programs designed to support veterans in need.

All proceeds from the car wash flow directly into those programs. The organization operates entirely through unpaid labor to maximize its charitable impact. Program director Christopher Ruble described how that structure shapes the group's mission. "Every dollar we make out here today goes to helping veterans," Ruble said. "Everyone in our complete organization, we're all volunteers. So nobody makes a paycheck. That way we can give everything back to our community."

The total amount raised at Saturday's event was not immediately available. It remains to be seen whether Disgruntled Vets and 22 Until None will announce additional fundraising dates or report final proceeds from the car wash.
