The Denver Broncos signed veteran safety Taylor Rapp to their practice squad Monday, completing a return that head coach Sean Payton had anticipated since the summer.

Rapp had originally signed with the Broncos on Aug. 20 before being released Aug. 26 due to personal reasons. At the time of that release, Payton said he expected Rapp to return at some point, and The Denver Gazette reported he likely would be placed on the practice squad upon that return.

Rapp worked out with Denver last Friday and looked good, leading the team to add him to the practice squad in preparation for Monday's practice.

Rapp is entering his eighth NFL season. He played for the Los Angeles Rams from 2019–22 and the Buffalo Bills from 2023–25, and was a starting safety when the Rams won the Super Bowl in the 2021 season.

Whether Rapp will be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster at any point this season remains to be seen.
