A former Air Force Academy standout turned in one of the most productive individual performances in Northwest Arkansas Naturals history on Sunday, putting his name in the franchise record book in multiple categories.
Kulasingam set franchise records for Northwest Arkansas — Kansas City's Double-A affiliate — with six hits, tying the existing mark, and eight RBIs. His effort was part of a game in which the Naturals established team records for runs scored (24) and hits (29), ultimately beating Arkansas, Seattle's Double-A affiliate, by a score of 24-4.
Kulasingam finished 6-for-7 with two home runs, with all of his production coming from the left side of the plate. The switch hitter twice captured the Tony Gwynn Player of the Year Award in the Mountain West during his college career.
Kulasingam, 25, is hitting .252/.376/.405 on the season, all at the Double-A level. He leads the Royals' minor league system with 538 plate appearances and ranks second with 83 walks, fourth with 81 runs scored, and is in the top ten with 29 stolen bases, 111 hits, and 23 doubles. His 12 home runs this season represent a significant jump from his previous campaign, in which he hit just two in 123 games for High-A Quad Cities in 2025.
Kulasingam has been particularly sharp of late, hitting .305/.420/.505 over 28 games since August 2. On defense, Sunday marked his 34th start in right field this season. He has also logged 35 starts at third base, 25 at first base, 15 at second base, and six apiece as a designated hitter and in left field, demonstrating the versatility that has kept him in the lineup consistently throughout the year.
Whether Kulasingam's record-setting stretch earns him a promotion to Triple-A or draws increased attention from the Kansas City Royals' front office heading into the offseason remains to be seen.
