The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled the Wade Logan Annyka 9-Drawer Fabric Dresser due to a tip-over and entrapment hazard that poses a risk of serious injury or death to children. If you have this dresser in your home, particularly in a child's room, check whether it is anchored to the wall right now.

The dresser was sold on Wayfair from September 2023 through May 2026 for approximately $98. It comes in black, brown, gray, and white and has nine fabric-covered drawers. If yours is not anchored to the wall, stop using it and move it somewhere children cannot access it.

How to Get a Refund

Consumers should stop using the dresser immediately if it is not anchored to the wall. To receive a refund, contact the importer — Ningbo Jiangdong Peter International Trading — by emailing annykarecall@yeah.net. You will be asked to provide a photo confirming disposal of the product.

Do not donate or resell the dresser. Recalled furniture should be disposed of to prevent it from reaching another household where it could injure a child.

What to Do If You Have Any Unanchored Furniture

This recall is a useful prompt to check anchoring on all free-standing furniture in rooms where children spend time — not just the recalled product. Bookcases, wardrobes, TV stands, and other tall furniture can all tip if a child pulls or climbs on them.

Wall anchor kits are inexpensive and widely available at hardware stores. Most consist of a bracket, a wall anchor or screw, and a short strap or cable that attaches the furniture to the wall stud. Installation typically takes less than 15 minutes per piece and does not require drilling large holes.

A few things to check in children's rooms:

• Dressers and clothing storage of any height or material
• Bookshelves, especially ones that children can reach the shelves of
• TV stands or entertainment units, particularly in playrooms or bedrooms with televisions
• Wardrobes or armoires

Anchoring should go into wall studs, not just drywall. A wall anchor in drywall alone will not hold a tipping dresser. Use a stud finder before drilling, or tap the wall to find the solid sound of a stud.

About the STURDY Act

The Stop Tip-overs of Unstable, Risky Dressers on Youth (STURDY) Act was signed into law in 2022 after years of advocacy by families who lost children to furniture tip-overs. The law required the CPSC to establish a mandatory safety standard for clothing storage units — the first federal mandatory standard of its kind. The standard took effect in 2023.

Since the STURDY Act standard took effect, the CPSC has recalled multiple dresser models that fail to meet it. The Wade Logan Annyka is among the most recent.
