Two Urgent Recalls COS Families Should See Right Now: Baby Sterilizer and Slide Playset

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced two recalls on November 5 that families with young children should know about immediately. One involves a widely used baby bottle sterilizer that's been overheating. The other involves a children's outdoor slide playset with a design flaw that creates a serious entrapment risk. If you have either product at home, here's exactly what to do.

Baby Brezza SuperFast Sterilizer Dryer

About 29,000 Baby Brezza SuperFast Sterilizer Dryers have been recalled after the company received 32 reports of overheating or melting plastic housings. These units were sold for up to $180 at major retailers including Target, Buy Buy Baby, and Amazon, and were popular among parents of infants for their speed and convenience.

The hazard is heat-related: the sterilizer's plastic housing can overheat during normal use, creating a burn or fire risk. The 32 reports received by Baby Brezza don't include any reported injuries, but the CPSC and Baby Brezza determined the risk was serious enough to issue a full recall.

What to do: Stop using the sterilizer immediately. Contact Baby Brezza directly โ€” the company will send you a free replacement unit with no shipping cost. You can reach them through their website or by calling the CPSC hotline at 1-800-638-2772. Don't throw out the unit before you've made contact, as the company may request the original unit or its serial number for the exchange.

To confirm your model is included, go to cpsc.gov and search for the Baby Brezza recall, or use the 1-800-638-2772 hotline. Model numbers are listed on the bottom of the unit.

Arlopu Children's Slide Playsets

About 10,318 Arlopu children's slide playsets have been recalled due to a head and neck entrapment hazard. This one is more urgent than the sterilizer recall in terms of immediate physical danger to children.

The CPSC's recall notice describes the hazard precisely: the playset includes openings large enough for a child's torso to pass through, but not large enough for the head to follow. This creates a scenario where a child can become irreversibly stuck, with their head trapped on one side of an opening and their body on the other. This kind of design flaw has led to child deaths in similar products.

These were sold through Amazon and Walmart, priced in the range of typical budget backyard play equipment. If you bought a slide playset from either retailer in the past couple of years, check the brand name carefully.

What to do: Stop use immediately if you have an Arlopu slide playset. Do not allow children to use the equipment until you've verified the model against the recall listing at cpsc.gov. The recall notice at cpsc.gov includes model numbers, photos, and instructions for obtaining a refund or replacement.

How to Check Both Recalls

Product Hazard Units Affected Remedy
Baby Brezza SuperFast Sterilizer Dryer Overheating, melting plastic ~29,000 Free replacement unit
Arlopu Children's Slide Playset Head/neck entrapment ~10,318 Refund or replacement (see cpsc.gov)

For both recalls: visit cpsc.gov and search the product name, or call 1-800-638-2772. The CPSC hotline is staffed and can help you confirm whether your specific model is included and walk you through the remedy process.

A Note on Amazon Purchases

If you bought the Arlopu playset through Amazon, check your order history โ€” Amazon typically notifies buyers directly when a product they've purchased is recalled, but that notification can land in a folder you haven't looked at. It's worth checking your email and your Amazon account's "Your Orders" section for any recall alerts on this product.

The same applies to the Baby Brezza sterilizer if you bought it through Amazon. Don't rely solely on a notification arriving; check cpsc.gov yourself against your model number.

What's Next

Both recalls were announced November 5, 2026. The CPSC registry at cpsc.gov is the authoritative source for the most current information on both products, including model number lists that may be updated as the investigation continues.

If you've already registered either product with the manufacturer, you may also receive a direct notification. If you haven't registered, now is the time to either register and report or contact Baby Brezza or the CPSC directly.

These recalls are a reminder to check cpsc.gov periodically โ€” the site updates regularly and maintains a full database of active recalls across all consumer product categories, including baby and children's products.
