Recall 1: YCXXKJ Baby Bath Seats

The YCXXKJ Baby Bath Seats, sold on Amazon through a seller called BenTalk, were recalled because they pose a drowning and entrapment risk. According to the CPSC, these seats violate the mandatory federal safety standard for infant bath seats โ€” a requirement that exists specifically because infant drowning in bath products is a documented hazard.

If you've purchased YCXXKJ bath seats from Amazon, stop using them now and visit cpsc.gov to find the specific recall notice and remedy instructions.

Recall 2: ONTHEWEI Baby Bath Seats (October 8, 2026)

The ONTHEWEI baby bath seats were recalled on October 8, 2026. More than 2,000 units were sold on Amazon. The hazard with this model is instability โ€” the seats tip over, which creates a drowning risk for any infant placed in them. No injuries have been reported, but the CPSC issued the recall because the risk of serious harm is present.

As with the YCXXKJ recall, if you have ONTHEWEI bath seats: stop use immediately and check cpsc.gov for the remedy.

Quick Reference

Product Hazard Where Sold Action
YCXXKJ Baby Bath Seats (BenTalk/Amazon) Drowning and entrapment; violates federal standard Amazon Stop use; follow CPSC remedy at cpsc.gov
ONTHEWEI Baby Bath Seats Tips over; drowning risk; 2,000+ units Amazon Stop use; follow CPSC remedy at cpsc.gov

A Reminder About Bath Seat Safety

Even bath seats that aren't under recall require constant adult supervision. The CPSC's long-standing guidance is that a caregiver must be within arm's reach of an infant in any bath seat at all times โ€” bath seats are a convenience device, not a safety device, and they don't substitute for supervision.

It's worth searching your home for any bath seats you may have received as gifts, borrowed, or bought secondhand. Recalled products sometimes circulate through resale markets and baby gear swaps long after the original recall is issued.

What's Next

Check your Amazon order history if you think you may have purchased either product. Both recalls are listed at cpsc.gov โ€” search by product name for the full remedy instructions. For questions about either recall, the CPSC consumer hotline is 1-800-638-2772.
