Pikes Peak Regional Airshow 2026: Your Complete Family Guide
This Saturday and Sunday, the skies over Colorado Springs are going to be very, very loud — and that's a good thing. The Pikes Peak Regional Airshow returns to Colorado Springs Airport on September 19 and 20, bringing two full days of warbirds, military jets, and aerial acrobatics to the Front Range. Here's everything your family needs to know before you go.

What's in the Air
This year's lineup blends modern military hardware with legendary World War II aircraft — which tends to land very well with kids who've never seen anything like a B-17 Flying Fortress in person. Confirmed performers include:
- F-35 demo, piloted by Kristin "Beo" Wolfe
- B-17 Flying Fortress
- P-47 Thunderbolt
- F4U Corsair
- B-25 Mitchell
- SBD Dauntless
- F7F Tigercat
- A-1 Skyraider
- Kyle Franklin in the "Dracula" aerobatic act
The event is organized in partnership with the National Museum of World War II Aviation, which has static exhibits and interactive displays on the flight line.
On the Ground
Beyond the flying, there's plenty to keep families busy between performances. Ground static displays let attendees walk up to aircraft up close. Kid zones and aviation-themed activities are set up throughout the grounds. Veteran recognition ceremonies are scheduled both days. Food is available for purchase throughout the event.
For families with younger kids: the noise level during jet performances is significant. Many parents bring earmuffs or earplugs for children under five — the airshow doesn't require them, but the F-35 and warbird engines are genuinely loud up close.
What's Next
Tickets and full event details are at pprairshow.org. With some ticket tiers already showing limited availability, it's worth locking in your spots today. Gates open at 8:30 AM on both Saturday September 19 and Sunday September 20 — arrive early to get a good spot on the flight line and make the most of the ground exhibits before the main show begins at 10:50 AM.
