The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on July 2, 2026, following nine reports of the clear plastic dome detaching from the toy's blue whale-shaped base and exposing the small colored balls inside. One child choking incident has been confirmed.

If you purchased this toy for a young child, stop using it immediately. Return it to any Target store for a full refund. No receipt is required, and Target is also offering a prepaid return shipping label for families who prefer to mail the item back.

What the Product Is

The Gigglescape Under the Sea Popping Toy is designed for young children. When a child presses a plunger on top of the toy, small colored balls inside the clear dome are propelled upward in a "popping" action. The toy is branded Gigglescape, with that name printed on the packaging and imprinted on the bottom of the blue whale-shaped base.

The recall affects units sold at Target stores nationwide from August 2025 through January 2026. If your household purchased this toy during that period, it falls within the recalled range regardless of when you started using it.
