SDADI Kitchen Tower Step Stools Recalled Over Collapse and Entrapment Risk
If you bought a SDADI kitchen tower step stool from Amazon, Walmart, Target, or Best Buy in the past couple of years, stop using it and move it away from your kids. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a formal recall just four days ago โ on July 16, 2026 โ for models LT01 and LT05, citing collapse, tip-over, and child entrapment risks.
About 5,952 of these stools were sold in the United States, and the CPSC has already received eight reports of the stools becoming unstable or tipping over. Four of those resulted in injuries โ scrapes, cuts, and bruises.

The problem isn't just that the stools can tip or collapse โ though that's serious on its own. The recall specifically calls out that the openings on the front and back sides of the tower structure are large enough for a small child's torso to pass through. That means a child who falls when the stool tips could become entrapped in the frame, a scenario the CPSC rates as carrying a risk of serious injury or death.
These are the kind of kitchen helper towers designed to let young children stand at counter height to help with cooking or washing. They're popular precisely because kids want to be involved โ which makes the entrapment risk particularly important to take seriously.
Which Products Are Affected
The recall covers SDADI kitchen helper tower step stools, models LT01 and LT05, imported by Yiwushi Bihe Trading of China. The stools were sold in gray, white, espresso, pink, and natural wood finishes and stand approximately 35 inches high. Price at sale ranged from $45 to $155.
They were sold exclusively online โ on Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Target.com, and BestBuy.com โ between April 2024 and September 2025.

A Note on Brand Recognition
SDADI is worth checking even if you don't remember that name. This brand was widely sold through major online retailers under product listings that may not have prominently displayed the brand name. If you bought a kitchen helper tower or toddler step stool from Amazon or another online retailer in the past year or two and it looks like a wooden tower with an open-frame platform, look for the model number on the underside of the stool. Models LT01 and LT05 are the ones covered by this recall.
How to Get a Refund
The remedy is a full refund. Stop using the stool immediately and store it somewhere your kids can't access it. Then contact the importer by email at john@SDADI.net โ they'll issue a refund for the purchase price.
You can also find the official recall listing at cpsc.gov or call the CPSC at 1-800-638-2772 if you have questions about the process.
What's Next
Because this recall was issued just four days ago, many families who have these stools may not have seen it yet. If you recognize this product in your home, stop use today and reach out to john@SDADI.net for your refund. And if you know another Colorado Springs family who might have one of these โ especially one with young children in the kitchen โ pass this along.
