One of Colorado Springs' largest family events of the fall returns next weekend: the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow runs Saturday and Sunday, September 19-20, 2026, at the Colorado Springs Airport. If you plan to attend, buy tickets now. The event has sold out in previous years, and tickets are only available online at pprairshow.org — they are not sold at the gate on event days.

What to Expect

Gates open at 8:30 AM both days. Aerial performances begin at 10:50 AM and run through 2:25 PM. The show features a mix of historic WWII warbirds and modern military jets, precision aerobatics, and static displays where families can walk up to vintage and active-duty aircraft on the ground.

Beyond the flying, the event includes kid zones, interactive aviation activities, and veteran recognition programming. The show is hosted in partnership with the National Museum of World War II Aviation and the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation. Entry via Peak Innovation Parkway is recommended for less congestion than other access routes to the airport.

Tickets and Pricing

Adult tickets start at $53.20. Children's tickets start at $42.18. If you want preferred seating, that is $80.75 per person. The VIP Canteen Experience, which includes preferred seating, shade, food, and drinks, runs $204.17 per person. Parking is free at the venue, including accessible parking spaces.

All ticket purchases must be completed online at pprairshow.org. Tickets are not available at the gate on event days. Given that the event has sold out in prior years, families who want to attend should act before the week of the event.

Who Is It For

The airshow is genuinely a full-day event for families across age ranges. Children who are drawn to planes, military history, or simply the sensory experience of jets overhead are well-served by both days. The static displays allow kids to see aircraft up close, and the kid zones provide activity options beyond watching the flight program. The two-day format also gives families flexibility to pick whichever day fits their schedule better.

Because performances end at 2:25 PM and the venue is at the Colorado Springs Airport — which has ample surface parking — families can plan a full morning-into-afternoon outing and still be home in time for dinner.
