Harkla Sensory Swing Recall: Stop Using the 4-Hole Mounting Version Immediately
If you have a Harkla compression sensory swing hanging in your home, check the ceiling mount right now. The CPSC announced a recall on October 29, 2026, covering approximately 31,075 of these swings — and the hazard is in the hardware most families never think to look at.
The recalled product is the Harkla children's compression sensory swing with a 4-hole ceiling hook plate. That plate can separate from the mount during use, causing the swing — and the child inside it — to fall. CPSC received 29 incident reports and documented 14 injuries, including two concussions and one broken arm.

Advertise hereWhich Version Is Affected
Only the 4-hole ceiling hook plate version is subject to this recall. If your swing uses a 2-hole plate, it is not affected and is safe to keep using. The affected model SKUs are LS-COMP-1BLU and LS-COMP-1BLU-SW.
These swings were sold between March 2020 and December 2025 for approximately $100 to $130. They were available through Amazon, Harkla's own website (Harkla.co), Sensory Tool House, Hammer and Jacks, Loaded Sensory, and Renew.
What to Do Right Now
The remedy is a free hardware replacement kit, not a full product return. You don't have to throw away the swing itself — only the mounting hardware needs to be replaced before you use it again.
To request your free replacement kit, visit harkla.co/pages/ceiling-hook-recall-2026 or call Harkla directly at 844-442-7552. Do not use the swing until the new hardware is installed.
If you're not sure which version of the ceiling plate you have, count the holes. Four holes means stop using it. Two holes means you're okay.
Why This Matters for Colorado Springs Families
Sensory compression swings are popular therapeutic tools for children with sensory processing differences, autism, and other neurodivergent profiles. Many families in COS use them daily as part of a sensory diet or home therapy routine — which makes the frequency of use a real factor in this recall's urgency. A mount that might fail eventually is more likely to fail when it's used several times a day.
This is the fifth significant child product safety action in October 2026. Earlier this month, CPSC issued warnings or recalls on the ONTHEWEI infant bath seat, Papablic bedside sleeper, bblüv Grow high chair, Lucakuins baby bath seat, and the Flyboss 3-in-1 Infant Bouncer. If you haven't checked those, cpsc.gov/recalls has the full list.

What's Next
Request the replacement hardware kit immediately if you have the affected version. Once it arrives, installation instructions will come with the kit. Until then, keep the swing out of reach. If you purchased one as a gift that hasn't been installed yet, check the plate version before mounting it.
