There are about two weeks left to take advantage of D11's Summer Food Service Program, which provides free lunch to any child or teen ages 1 through 18 in Colorado Springs. No paperwork, no registration — just show up during service hours at a site near you.

The program runs through approximately July 31, and there are locations across the city, including school sites, mobile home parks, and community centers.

East Library Mobile Unit

One of the most convenient locations for families in northeast Colorado Springs is the D11 mobile unit at the East Library, located at 5550 N. Union Blvd. The unit serves free lunch from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. You can walk up, no appointment needed.

If that location doesn't work for your family, there are a number of other sites across the city.

Other Locations

D11's Summer Food Service Program operates at multiple sites throughout Colorado Springs, including:

  • A-1 Mobile Home Park
  • Canterbury Mobile Home Park
  • Colorado Military Academy
  • Deerfield Hills Community Center
  • Grant Elementary
  • Jackson Elementary
  • Keller Elementary

Hours and availability vary by location. The full list, including days and hours for each site, is at d11.org/summermeals.

Who Qualifies

Any child or teen between ages 1 and 18 qualifies, regardless of whether they attend a D11 school. This is a federally funded summer nutrition program, and income verification is not required. Adult meals are available at some sites for $5.

What's Next

The program closes at the end of July, so if you haven't used it yet and it would be helpful for your family, now is the time. Check the full site list and hours at d11.org/summermeals, or call D11 Food and Nutrition Services directly at 719-520-2930.
