Halloween is Saturday, October 31, and Colorado Springs still has a full week of family-friendly events between now and then. From free fun runs to sensory-friendly festivals to a classic night at the zoo, here's what's left on the calendar — plus a few reminders to make trick-or-treat night go smoothly.

Note: Several of these events are confirmed from prior-year programming. Verify current dates, hours, and ticket availability directly with each venue before heading out. Event details can change.

Boo at the Zoo — Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Boo at the Zoo is one of the most popular annual Halloween events in Colorado Springs, and it typically runs through the final weekend before Halloween. The zoo transforms into a family Halloween experience with costumed characters, trick-or-treat stations, and fall decorations throughout the grounds. Advance e-tickets are required and often sell out — check the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo website directly to confirm 2026 dates and availability before making plans.

Fleet Feet Halloween Fun Run — Thursday, October 30

The Fleet Feet Halloween Fun Run takes place Thursday, October 30, at 6 PM at Palmer Park. It's a free 5K, and costumes are strongly encouraged — prizes are awarded for the best outfits. This is a low-key, family-friendly way to kick off the Halloween weekend without spending anything. Strollers are welcome.

SoccerHaus Indoor Family Halloween Festival — Friday, October 31

SoccerHaus is hosting a free indoor Halloween festival on October 31 from 2 PM to 8 PM at 4845 List Drive in Colorado Springs. The event includes bounce houses, face painting, and other activities. There's also a designated sensory-friendly hour from 2:30 to 3:30 PM for kids who do better with lower stimulation. Proceeds benefit Aedyn's Backpack Club. Free entry makes this a strong option for families who want structured activities before trick-or-treating begins.

KOA "Leafy Laughs and Apple Snacks" — October 30 through November 1

The Colorado Springs KOA campground in Fountain is wrapping up its Halloween weekend series October 30 through November 1 with "Leafy Laughs and Apple Snacks." The event features trick-or-treating and fall activities in a campground setting — a good option for families who want something outdoors and lower-key. Check the KOA website for registration details and to confirm 2026 programming.

Trick-or-Treat Night: Saturday, October 31

The COS trick-or-treat window is 5:30 PM to 8 PM on Saturday, October 31. Safe Kids Worldwide reports that the child pedestrian risk on Halloween night is 43% higher than on a typical evening — so flashlights, reflective tape or gear, and adult accompaniment for younger kids matter more than usual. Face paint is safer than full masks, which limit side vision. Cross only at crosswalks.

If you're participating in the FARE Teal Pumpkin Project, a teal pumpkin on your porch signals that you have allergy-friendly treats or non-food items available — a meaningful gesture for families navigating food allergies.
