D49 Opens New Preschool Classrooms at Student Success Center This Fall
Falcon School District 49 is growing its early childhood education program this fall, opening two new preschool classrooms at the newly opened D49 Student Success Center.
The expansion adds seats for three to five year olds in D49's service area โ the eastern Colorado Springs community that has historically had fewer early childhood program options than the more centrally located D11 and D20 districts.

Two new classrooms through D49 Early Childhood Education launched at the start of the 2026โ2027 school year. The classrooms are housed within the D49 Student Success Center, a new facility that opened this fall as part of the district's expanding student support infrastructure.
D49's Early Childhood Education program focuses on school readiness for preschool-age children. The program combines learning through play, structured activities, and social-emotional development to prepare students for kindergarten. The two new classrooms extend that programming to more families in D49's coverage area.
Who This Serves
The new preschool classrooms are designed for children in the three to five age range who live within D49's boundaries. Falcon School District 49 covers a large geographic area in eastern El Paso County, including Falcon, Peyton, and the eastern Colorado Springs communities along Powers Boulevard and beyond.
Access to publicly supported preschool has been one of the equity gaps COS parents in outlying districts have flagged in recent years. Two new classrooms don't solve that entirely, but they're a meaningful addition.
What's Next
Families interested in D49 Early Childhood Education enrollment can visit d49.org or contact D49 directly. If you're in D49's area with a preschool-age child, it's worth a call to ask about availability โ spots in public preschool programs tend to fill quickly once word gets around.
The D49 Student Success Center, which houses the new classrooms, is a newly opened facility. More information about the center's programs and services should be available through the district as the school year progresses.
