Labor Day weekend in the Pikes Peak region has no shortage of options — but for families who want a free, art-forward outing that works for all ages, the Commonwheel Artists Labor Day Art Festival in Manitou Springs belongs at the top of the list.

Now in its 52nd year, the Commonwheel Artists Co-op festival runs September 5, 6, and 7 at Memorial Park in historic Manitou Springs, just minutes west of Colorado Springs. Admission is free, hours are 10 AM to 5 PM each day, and the event draws more than 12,000 visitors over the holiday weekend.
