Photo submission terms
When you submit a Nostalgia photo to Colorado Springs Forum, you’re granting Springs Daily a license to publish it. Here’s what that means, in plain English — no fine print hidden behind a link.
Version 2026-04-23-v1. If we change these terms we’ll publish a new version and your existing submissions stay under the version you agreed to.
Your rights
You keep ownership of your photo. You are granting Springs Daily a non-exclusive license to publish it. You can submit the same photo anywhere else, any time.
Where we may publish it
If we accept your submission, we may display it on: springsdaily.com (including the site archive), Springs Daily newsletters (email), Springs Daily social media accounts, and future print or digital compilations published by Springs Daily (for example a "Colorado Springs in the 80s" year-end roundup). The license is worldwide, royalty-free, and indefinite — but you can ask us to take it down at any time (see "Removal" below).
Credit
We'll credit you with the name you provided when you submitted. If you'd prefer a different credit line or no credit at all, email editor@springsdaily.com before we publish or after — we'll update within 7 days.
Who should be in the photo
You confirm that you have the right to share this image. That means one of the following is true: you took the photo yourself, or the photo is of a public place or event, or the people in it have agreed to be shown, or the photo is old enough that the subjects are long-established historical figures. Do not submit photos of children you don't have guardian permission to share, or private property/people who would object.
Editorial latitude
We may lightly crop, rotate, compress, or resize your photo for display quality. We will not alter the content meaningfully (no AI edits, no combining with other images). If we use an excerpt (say, for a social card), we'll try to keep the spirit of the original.
Moderation
Submitting does not guarantee publication. We may decline any submission for any reason. If we decline, we'll email you with a short reason. Your image is deleted if we reject it.
Removal
Ask for removal at any time by emailing editor@springsdaily.com. We'll take the image down from the live site, the current social feed, and future newsletters within 7 days. We cannot recall archived newsletters already sent to subscribers, but we will note the removal request on future editions.
No warranty on your side
You're doing this as a neighbor, not a paid contributor. You're granting rights "as-is" and are not promising the photo meets any legal standard — you're just saying you have the right to share it in good faith.
