Two high chair products are prompting action from the Consumer Product Safety Commission this week. One is a formal recall; the other is an unusual safety warning issued because the manufacturer refused to participate in a recall. In both cases, parents who own these products should stop using them immediately.

Babimoni High Chair YB-H1234 CPSC Safety Warning Amazon.com, Mar.โ€“Jul. 2024 ~350 Stop use immediately; no established refund

Bicystar Children's High Chairs โ€” CPSC Recall No. 26-290

The recall covers Bicystar high chairs in model TB-HC6900, which you can identify by a product label stitched to the back of the seat cover. The chair is gray with a metal frame and a cushioned seat cover with a tray. About 150 units were sold exclusively on Amazon.com in September 2025.

The CPSC has identified two separate hazards:

  • Fall hazard: The chair does not have an attached crotch restraint, which is a required safety feature that prevents infants from sliding out of the seat.
  • Head entrapment hazard: There is a gap between the seat and the tray that is large enough for an infant's head to become entrapped โ€” a situation that can be fatal.

If you have this chair: stop using it immediately and contact the seller on Amazon for a full refund. You do not need a receipt. The recall number is 26-290; you can find full details at cpsc.gov.

Babimoni Multifunctional High Chairs โ€” CPSC Safety Warning

The Babimoni situation is unusual. The CPSC identified multiple safety problems with Babimoni Multifunctional High Chairs (model YB-H1234), contacted the manufacturer โ€” Ningbo Yibai Children Products Co. Ltd. in China โ€” and requested a recall. The manufacturer refused.

When a manufacturer refuses to recall a product, the CPSC cannot force a traditional recall through the same channels it uses for U.S.-based companies. Instead, the agency issued a formal safety warning. This means there is no established refund or repair program. The CPSC's guidance is simple: stop using the product immediately.

The Babimoni chairs were sold on Amazon.com from March 2024 through July 2024. About 350 units are in circulation. The hazards identified by the CPSC include:

  • Chair can tip over
  • Restraint system is not properly attached
  • Tray can disengage unexpectedly
  • Locks can fail
  • Head entrapment gap between seat and tray

If you purchased a Babimoni high chair on Amazon between March and July 2024, stop using it. While there is no formal refund program, families may be able to pursue a return or refund directly through Amazon for purchases within the platform's extended return policies. Check your order history and contact Amazon customer service.

What to Know About Head Entrapment Gaps

Both products share a head entrapment hazard โ€” a gap between the seat back and the tray edge. This is a particularly dangerous design flaw because the gap is large enough for an infant's head to enter but too small for the child to pull back out on their own. The entrapment can cause strangulation.

To check any high chair in your home: with the tray in place, see whether there is a gap larger than approximately one inch between the seat back and the tray edge at any point. If you can fit two adult fingers in a gap side-by-side, it may represent a risk. When in doubt, check the chair's model number against the CPSC recall database at cpsc.gov.

What's Next

Visit cpsc.gov and search for recall numbers 26-290 (Bicystar) and the Babimoni safety warning to read the full official notices. If you own either product, remove it from use and store it away from children. For Bicystar owners, contact the Amazon seller for your refund. For Babimoni owners, contact Amazon directly to explore your options.
